Company History

Australian Pipe Organs Pty Ltdwas founded in 1980 as a result of the amalgamation of three smaller businesses, and a policy by the directors to immediately commence an apprenticeship training program was put in place to ensure a staff level of well trained, and dedicated craftsmen, capable of servicing all the needs of the Australian organ building industry, and to ensure both continuity of the company, and a long-term Melbourne organ building presence.

The founding directors were:

John Lacey, John Stephens, Martin Fowles and Robert Heatley.

The company is shortly to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary, the current directors being:

Daniel Bittner, Robert and Jillian Heatley.

The current staff level of nine, is committed to producing the ongoing high standard of work, for which the company is renowned.
