Voicing and Tonal Finishing
The crowning glory of any new instrument is its sound, and this is tied to the standard of the pipework employed, as well as the voicing, and tonal finishing of it.
It is the policy of the company to carefully design, scale, manufacture, and voice all pipework to produce a homogonous whole, with tonal finishing that takes into account the acoustics of the space in which it is placed, and purpose for which it is to be used.
The careful balancing and relationship of stops within tonal families is essential to producing a fine musical instrument, and therefore, the tonal finishing of any instrument is something which cannot be hurried, and which, quite often must be carried out in the quiet of night.
Our pipe making and voicing department is also frequently consulted for the repair, overhauling, and revoicing of old reed stops, both for ourselves and other builders.
We are also on occasions, asked by other organ builders, to advise, and carry out tonal finishing of instruments on their behalf.
